Late this afternoon special police forces again blocked the Serb village of Babin Most and once again conducted a search of the house of Vukasin Simic. After the search they detained Vukasin's son, Sasa Simic.

Local residents of Babin Most confirmed that this morning at about 7:00 a.m. approximately one hundred members of the Kosovo Police Service occuppied the part of the village next to the highway. At dawn police forced their way into ten Serb houses and carried out a detailed search of all buildings and household members without much consideration for the children, elderly and ailing who were also in the houses.

During the search three Serb men were arresed. Vukasin Simic was released after questioning in the police station in Obilic. Still in detention are Stojan Danic and Radovan Vuckovic, who was found in possession of a hunting rifle for which he has the proper license, according to the latter's son.

The brutal police break in into the village caused great unrest among local residents who only found out about that a policeman was killed last night as police were leaving the village.

According to a witten KPS communique, policeman Avni Kosumi was killed this morning on the road from Pristina to Kosovska Mitrovica between the villages of Babin Most and Stanovce. KPS spokesman Veton Eleshani has said in the meanwhile there is no room for speculation that policeman Avni Kosumi was killed in an ambush or an attack because he died from a stray bullet.
