The vehicle hit was carrying the driver and three officials of the Kosovo police. The policemen were on their way to Vucitrn as they returned to work. An investigation is in progress.

Coordinating center accuses KPS of mistreating Serbs

The Coordinating Center for Kosovo and Metohija's Press Center in Kosovska Mitrovica accused members of the Kosovo Police Service of "taking advantage of the death of a policeman for the mistreatment" of Serbs. The statements says that members of the KPS blocked the village of Babic Most in Obilic municipality, which is inhabited by Serbs, this morning at about 3:30 a.m. They spent hours searching Serb houses and "mistreating" the locals.

The statement adds that the KPS member was killed "at the intersection (with the road leading) to Babin Most" in an area "inhabited exclusively by Albanians".

"Consequently, today's unscrupulous mistreatment of Serbs, who have been living in fear for the past seven years in a highly hostile Albanian environment, can only be described as yet another anti-Serb campaign by the government of Agim Ceku," says the statement.
