FOCUS ENGLISH NEWS (BULGARIA), 24 October 2006 09:15

Pristina. Kosovo has entered the phase of defining its status and that is why everyone should commit themselves to fulfilling the standards and preserving the stability, the deputy head of the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) Steven Schook said cited by TANJUG agency.

Steven Schook underscored that the UNMIK is getting ready to leave Kosovo. He confirmed that the international administration in Kosovo is preparing to hand over the last competences to the Kosovo institutions before leaving the region.

According to the UNMIK deputy head the time for them to leave is coming closer, just as is that for defining Kosovo's future status.
