BELGRADE, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Kosovo government condemned on Wednesday the bomb attack against Serbs in the western Kosovo town of Klina on Tuesday night.
"This act aims to compromise joint life in Kosovo, since this has been accepted as a general orientation both by the inhabitants of Klina and the citizens of Kosovo," the Kosovo government said in a statement, adding that this attack took place "at the time the government is making the maximum efforts to create conditions for a free and safe life for all citizens."
Four Serbs were wounded in Tuesday night's bomb attack. They returned to Klina a year ago, having fled Kosovo in 1998-99 for fear of revenge attacks from ethnic Albanians after the NATO blast forced Serbian forces to leave Kosovo.
Kosovo has been placed under UN administration since then. UN-mediated future status talks between Serbian and the Kosovo Albanians began in February in Vienna and are under pressure to reach a settlement by the year's end.
The Kosovo government called on the Serb citizens not to be discouraged by this act, demanding the law and order organs solve the case immediately and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Immediately after the attack, Kosovo Premier Agim Ceku visited the site of the blast and met with local authorities and the police. Enditem
